11:15 AM UPDATE: Roads Impacted by Flooding, Downed Trees or Utilities in North Central Pennsylvania

Montoursville, PA – Motorists in north central Pennsylvania are advised the following roads in the area (listed by county) are closed or have a lane restriction due to flooding, downed trees or utilities. Updates will be sent periodically.

Columbia

  • Route 4008 (Back Branch Road) between Whites Church Road and Millertown Road in Mt. Pleasant Township for downed utilities.

Northumberland

  • Route 2004 (Bowden Road) between Route 54 and Logan Run Road in Rush Township for tree into utilities.
  • (OPEN) Route 147 south of Herndon at the split with Route 225 to Carls Hill Road in Lower Mahonoy Township.
  • Route 2010 (Shamrock Road) between Poppy Road and Route 2007 (Short Road) in Shamokin Township.

Snyder

  • Route 3008 (Paxtonville Road) between Route 3007 (Iron Bridge Road) in Franklin Township and Route 104 in Middleburg Borough for downed tree into utilities.
  • Route 1007 (Globe Mills Road) between Tame Deer Drive in Jackson Township and Ridge Road in Middle Creek Township for downed utilities.

PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
