The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced plans to close a bridge along Smokey Hollow Road (Route 3018) in Tuscarora Township, Juniata County on Tuesday, May 28. PennDOT Juniata County Maintenance forces will complete a bridge restoration project on a structure spanning Union Run approximately a mile northeast of East Waterford that will improve its condition rating from poor to good.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that it will remove a 10-ton gross weight limitation of Ninth Street (Route 3029) near Philipsburg. The limitation is being lifted between the intersection with Route 322 in Rush Township, Centre County, and Route 53 in Morris Township, Clearfield County.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) updated drivers on its Route 35 highway restoration project near Mifflintown Borough in Juniata County. This work, which impacts Route 35 between Butchershop Road and the on-ramp to Route 322, will improve the ride quality, extend the life of the roadway surface, and enhance safety for the traveling public.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work to replace a failing drainage pipe along Bee Line Highway (Route 255) in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, is set to begin Monday, May 13. Replacing the pipe will prevent damage to the pavement surface and the area underneath as well as enhance driver safety by reducing the potential for flooding.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) placed a radar-controlled speed display board yesterday on Route 219 in Lafayette Township, McKean County. The board will be apparent to drivers traveling North into a bridge preservation work zone where the speed limit is currently reduced to 45 miles per hour. It is intended to remind drivers to obey the posted speed limit and aid in curbing speeding in the work zone.
